Level 1 — routine visual
Readily accessible chimney and appliance areas. Typical when the system is already in service and nothing major has changed. Still useful before the first cool-season fire.
Level 2 — deeper accessible look
Used when the home is sold or bought, when appliances/fuel change, or after an event that may have affected the chimney. Often includes examining accessible attics/crawl spaces and scanning the flue interior. Ask for this explicitly when listing or buying in West Palm Beach.
Level 3 — investigative
When a serious hazard is suspected and parts of the structure must be opened to see hidden damage. Not a first step for every stain; reserved for conditions that justify it.
